Do you have family classes?
Yes, all of our Karate classes are family classes with the exception of our Knee-High Samurai classes (ages 4-8) and our adult Kickboxing classes.
How old does my child have to be to start classes?
We have classes available for children as young as 4 years of age. We have had children as young as 3-1/2 under certain circumstances. Call for details... 719-388-2020
Do you have classes for beginners?
Yes. Our group classes have both beginners and other ranks in class! Our senior students help our beginners feel more comfortable.
Will Karate make my child aggressive?
Karate is about respect. In fact, Karate begins and ends with respect. Karate has helped even the most aggressive children keep their temper and emotions in control.
Will my child get into fights?
Martial arts, such as Karate, help children refrain from fighting. Your child will learn the skills to defend themselves and the confidence not to have to use it.
How big are your classes?
A typical class can range from 12 to 24 people, although it would depend on the day. Please note that during this pandemic time, all our classes are subject to limited sizes.
Will your classes help me get in shape?
Absolutely! The combination of our stretching, cardiovascular exercises and martial arts techniques help you get in the best shape of your life.
How many classes should I attend?
We have several classes available weekly. Most of our students train between 1 to 3 times per week. Our flexible schedule makes it easy to make up classes in case you miss one.
How often should my child attend class?
Most students come between one and two times a week.
My child is overweight and not in shape. Can he still do Karate?
Martial arts is a great way for students and adults to get in shape. With the rise of childhood obesity, lack of physical education in the school and less physical activities, the martial arts provide a great workout for children of all ages to get in shape.
My child has A.D.D. and lacks focus. Can Karate help them with that?
For years we have been helping children with ADD/ADHD, Dyslexia and Autism. Our Martial arts classes help increase focus, concentration, esteem and confidence.
What kind of shape do I need to be?
You don’t need to be in shape to participate in the martial arts. We will help you get there.
